A shark has recently been running in the streets of Ostend. The recumbent bike is the youngest creation of Chris Lowyck. The Oostdenaar makes unique vehicles with recycled material – from wooden frames to metal details from old beer cans.
“I had my eye on a recumbent bike five years ago, but it quickly cost 10,000 euros, for the frame alone,” says Lowyck. “So I thought: why don’t I make it in wood myself?”
