This is how “Zeit” by Rammstein sounds in the Ólafur Arnalds version

March is already all about Rammstein; the next few months should bring some exciting developments. After the band around singer Till Lindemann released the first, complex foretaste of their album of the same name, which will be released at the end of April, there will be more immediately.

Two very different remix versions test the complex musical material, so to speak. Ólafur Arnalds gives the Rammstein number a melancholy face with a gentle piano and dabs of strings.

Robot Koch, the Los Angeles-based electronic artist from Kassel, supports Lindemann’s oppressive vocals with massive basses and all sorts of other percussion.

In the past, Rammstein have often had their own pieces beautified or wantonly destroyed by other musicians with remixes. The 2020 compilation “Remixes” contained new versions of Rammstein tracks by Faith No More, Clawfinger, Westbam, Scooter, Schiller and the Pet Shop Boys.

For analog purists, “Zeit” is now also available as a maxi single on CD and as 10″ black vinyl. You can get the discs HERE.
