Butter board

(for 4 people)

100 g of butter

100 g unflavored cream cheese

pickled red onion (or some other pickled vegetable)

a few pickled mushrooms

1/2 teaspoon of fresh thyme leaves

1/2 teaspoon of dark, runny honey

1/4 teaspoon chili flakes

a pinch of finger salt

1. Brown the butter in a saucepan without stirring. The butter is ready when an intoxicating nutty aroma rises from it. Cool and refrigerate for a while so the butter hardens. Leave the whey in the butter, it has flavor.

2. Mix butter and cream cheese. Spread on a plate or cutting board with a spoon heated in water. Sprinkle the chili flakes on the surface, grind a little black pepper on top and place the pickled red onions and mushrooms on the surface of the spread.

3. Drizzle a little honey on top. Garnish with thyme leaves and finally sprinkle with finger salt. Enjoy immediately with crusty bread.
