There’s not much that’s new about “Stefan and Bully versus some Schnulli”, fans think.
“Stefan and Bully against someone Schnulli” is the name of the new RTL format, which started on Saturday evening (December 21st) at prime time on free TV. But the show wasn’t well received by everyone. This is how the viewers reacted.
The live comeback in a double pack
In contrast to Raab’s RTL+ quiz show “You won’t win a million here”, which had already recorded major losses in audience reach from the second week of broadcast, the new television program did not rely on the entertainer as the sole driving force – but on a showmaster -Duo. The man at his side: Comedian Michael “Bully” Herbig.
The idea behind it: incredibly simple. “You will compete against the candidate who manages to defeat three other competitors at the beginning of the show,” the broadcaster announced in advance. “some Schnulli” is a candidate from the general population with ambitions to defeat “Stefan and Bully” in various games. “Your opponents are craftsmen, doctors, students, teachers or lawyers – everyone has the chance to apply,” says RTL. No sooner said than done – and Bundeswehr doctor Marc stepped up to stand up to the two TV titans.
“Same show for the third time”
The audience’s reactions to the show were, well, mixed. Especially because the new concept didn’t seem all that new to many people. “Everything feels like it did 10 years ago, just not on ProSieben anymore,” wrote a user on
“Stefan Raab has ‘invented’ the same show for the third time,” another user was sure. And actually: the way the games played, the staff with Elton as moderator and Frank Buschmann as commentator: there were certain similarities. Even if it meant loudly complaining about the rules of the game in the well-known manner. “I think Raab is somehow very annoying with his bossiness…” said one viewer.
“Raab continues to work”
The “LOL” presenter Herbig should probably make a difference. But that wasn’t well received everywhere either: “Bully is only there because they tried to change the concept so that no one can say it’s the same snot as always, but it just doesn’t make any sense, well,” said one user. And Raab himself doesn’t come off well either: “I used to think Raab was great, and I was sad when he announced his farewell in front of the camera. “Now I just find it outdated and annoying,” someone wrote on X.
Others, however, are still enthusiastic about the 58-year-old’s comeback – despite some compromises. “Has Raab gotten older? Yes. Is the whole show just a copy of Schlag den Raab? Yes. Can she still create incredibly exciting moments? YES! Absolutely! The combination of a normal candidate and an extremely ambitious Raab continues to work,” said one user. “No RTL show has been so exciting in recent years,” wrote another, probably speaking from the hearts of many fans.
