Morad landed in Granada on April 29, 2019 when he had just turned 20 years old. It was the first time that the rapper from L’Hospitalet took a plane, which was flying, something that sounds really far away now, more than four years later, when he has just arrived from a packed tour of Europe in which he has traveled to a total of 15 cities. How many artists around here perform alone, without the umbrella of a festival, before 4,000 or 5,000 people in large venues in capitals on the continent?
He took that first plane to work with Dellafuente, the brilliant artist from Granada. Before that professional meeting they had already shared time in Barcelona, and they had connected. The beginning of everything, Dellafuente told this newspaper in 2019, was ‘the fault’ of the YouTube algorithm, which hit the nail on the head this time and showed the man from Granada a song by a then unknown singer from the La Florida neighborhood and it sounded familiar to him.” fresh” at a time when he said that everything “sounded the same” to him.
From those three days of coexistence, including a getaway to step on the snow of the Sierra Nevada, ‘Dineros’, their first work together and a song on which a relationship of friendship is founded, but, above all, mutual admiration and respect.. A song (published in June 2019) that met expectations and had a clear message: “I live in a world, don’t let them lie to you; it has a soul, but you only have money”.
“Something that I really liked about him is the vision he has of life, which has a lot in common with me. There are many people who talk about the street, as if exalting it, hesitating. He talks about it from another point like: ‘yes, we are here, but I don’t wish this on you, I would like to get out of here,'” the man from Granada commented years ago.
Dellafuente, who is now 31 years old, became a reference for Morad (currently 24), something like a mentor, although the one from Granada then described in this way how their first meetings were when the one from La Florida was only 19 years old: “When we met, my goal was to give him advice, and he ended up giving me “He gives me advice about life. He has the mentality of a super mature and adult person.”
After ‘Dineros’ there have been more collaborations, perhaps less than expected, which is understood above all due to a time of Dellafuente’s confinement., a family artist, avoiding the spotlight and the exposure typical of a star of his magnitude – he is, without a doubt, one of the greatest references in Spanish music in the last decade. But they have always maintained contact, even though they live at different paces, as Morad has exploited his talent and productivity and has established himself as an urban star also outside of Spanish borders, as his recent European tour shows.

Now they have released the shimmering EP, ‘Zizou’, which is understood as a celebration of their friendship. And it is also part of a unique event that was announced in October: a special concert that brings them together for the first time in a big way on stage (something that was seen at Sónar in 2019, precisely, with the performance of ‘Dineros’ ). This is an event organized by Red Bull called SoundClash, which is being done for the first time in Spain. A format that draws on “sound clashes” (literally in Spanish, sound clashes), in which two teams faced each other around the styles of reggae or dancehall, to declare a winner based on the public’s reactions. . A show with different acts, in which, for example, their own songs are performed with different styles, one sings the other’s songs and in which there will be special guests.
Tickets for the two days of the show (December 12 and 13) at the Wizink in Madrid were sold at a fraction of the price (about 12,000 per day). A concert with two stages, one facing the other, but, let’s be clear, it does not confront them. For Morad, of course, Dellafuente is an untouchable beacon. And both have wanted to emphasize that: it is not a combat, it is a joint celebration of friendship.
