Otto app: This is how the mail order company ensures more accessibility
Hamburg mail order company Otto has given his app an update to ensure more accessibility.
By shaking your smartphone, opening a window with several functions inside the OTTO app, which could report barriers to the platform, contact customer service or step into the dialog with a chat bot, said Otto on Wednesday. The click on the “Reporting barrier” button leads users to your email portal, where you can indicate any impairments in the User Journey. For example, as such as low contrasts for visual impaired or lack of lettering at Icons, it should be made aware of overcoming them.
“I am pleased that we have launched the new feature for more accessibility in the Otto app,” said Gerhard Kühne, Creative Lead App and User Experience at Otto. “The shaking gesture is distributed in the app context, for example to report technical problems. 85 percent of all orders from Otto are now via mobile devices. It was all the more important to us to offer people with disabilities a simple way to report barriers in our app. ”
The new function, the Android and iOS user: The latest operating system is available inside, was launched after a survey of people with disabilities and impairments. The survey showed that those affected perceive the feature as “sensible and useful”, according to the notification.
