This is how Hertha’s presidential casting works

After the resignations of President Werner Gegenbauer (72), Vice Thorsten Manske (57) and Norbert Sauer, Hertha’s club leadership has to regroup. On June 26, Hertha will have the eagerly awaited new start at the extraordinary general meeting!

A gathering that is very different than usual – much more compact!

BZ knows: There are only three items on the agenda this time: Opening and welcome, the by-election of the President, the Vice-President and the ordinary members of the Executive Committee and finally miscellaneous.

This is about Hertha’s future! The starting shot is planned for 11 a.m. on June 26 in the City Cube Berlin (Messedamm 26, 14055 Berlin). According to the statutes, the members must receive the invitation 14 days in advance. However, Hertha is making every effort to send the post earlier (Tuesday or Wednesday).

Ingmar Pering (56), who temporarily acts as spokesman for the presidium, which has shrunk to four people (Pering, Peer Mock-Sümer (54), Fabian Drescher, Anne Jiingermann), explains the reason for the rush: “We are happy when so many Members as possible appear and elect the new Presidency. A high number would be tantamount to a high level of legitimacy for the body.”

According to the statutes, the presidium should consist of nine people. So there are various personnel decisions to be made.

Incidentally, according to BZ information, Hertha has not yet officially received any candidates who are trying to run for the presidency.

Kay Bernstein (formerly the capo of the Harlequins ultra group) and Marco L. Henning (known as “Der Herthaner” on YouTube) had previously announced their forthcoming candidacy in the media. Member of the Executive Committee Mock-Stürem is also considered a possible candidate. Other candidates are expected.

The applications must be submitted in writing to Hertha’s office no later than seven days before the meeting on June 26th. The Supervisory Board will then hold suitability interviews and approve or reject the applicants for the respective positions.

The clock is ticking…
