FC Barcelona would like to free Robert Lewandowski from FC Bayern in the summer. In order for this project to succeed, the Catalans would have to send millions to Munich. Barca officials apparently continue to believe in the spectacular deal.

Noisy “sports1At FC Barcelona there is “no doubt” that the Lewandowski transfer can be completed by the end of the transfer period.

Financially, things are looking bleak at Barca, as the club has a mountain of debt of around 1.35 billion euros. For this reason, the Spanish league boss Javier Tebas recently said that the traditional club could not afford Lewandowski “as of today”.

“I would like to ask you not to comment on whether we can sign a certain player or not, as it clearly harms FC Barcelona’s interests,” Barca president Joan Laporta later fumed against Tebas.

According to Lewandowski consultant Pini Zahavi “Sport1”, Laporta and Barcelona’s sports director Mateu Alemany already assured in March that they were economically viable.

A transfer fee of 30 to 50 million euros and a gross salary of 60 to 80 million euros for three years of the contract is “not a broken leg”, the TV broadcaster claims to have heard from club circles.

FC Barcelona plans mega deals

FC Barcelona are said to be confident for a number of reasons. The club expects to “conclude important business” in the coming weeks. Most recently, Barca bagged a €300m deal with Spotify. The Swedish streaming service provider will hold the naming and jersey rights to the stadium for the next four years.

The sale of 49 percent of the club’s Barca Licensing & Merchandising (BLM) is said to bring in over 300 million euros. In addition, “an arrangement regarding the TV rights” is apparently in the making with the financial companies CVC and Goldman Sachs.

Since Barca probably also wants to sell 49 percent of the club’s production company “Barca Studios”, the club would not even have to give up superstars for the Lewandowski transfer – should all deals actually succeed, according to the “Sport1” report.

In addition to FC Bayern’s top scorer, the Spanish first division club is said to have Andreas Christensen, César Azpilicueta, Marcos Alonso (all Chelsea FC), Franck Kessié (AC Milan), Borna Sosa (VfB Stuttgart) and Raphinha (Leeds United) in their sights.
