“This is going too far,” mayor Kuurne reacts furiously to photos while he is shopping in a neighboring municipality

Mayor Francis Benoit (CD&V) responds via Facebook: “At first I was very light about this. But when a friend pointed out to me that this is serious about it and privacy violation, I did get angry. That the photo, on the other hand, is once again forwarded at the level of the municipal council to get me politically…. Come on say .” (continue reading below the photo)

According to the mayor, the photo was forwarded to complain that he goes to a supermarket in Harelbeek. “Indeed, sometimes I go to a supermarket in Harelbeke Huis Maria – Beverage Center and very rarely also to Delhaize Harelbeke. Because I have to pick up something a little further in Harelbeke. Hence on my way. But I also visit quite a few supermarkets and shops in Kuurne and even more than ever.”

“A councilor from another party (New Kuurne) is honest enough to come and tell me. I was light about it but after a night’s sleep, I even dare to say that I have to sue for this. I also realized that this is even a criminal offense. It’s not for me to do that. But to point out how far certain people go and not even realize it anymore. What’s next? Photos of what’s in my shopping cart? And then many wonder why many leave politics? It’s heavy about it. I doubted for a long time whether I would post this but now you know how sickly certain people have become. And see nothing more of reality and just shoot people. Arcadia….”
