The Nine Inch Nails singer was introduced to the pop star’s music by his daughter.
Nine Inch Nails singer Trent Reznor has a heart for current pop music. In the “Broken Record”podcast by music producer Rick Rubin, Reznor spoke about how a song by British singer Dua Lipa brought tears to his eyes.
In the interview, the singer and multi-instrumentalist spoke about his children, whom he previously wanted to keep away from modern pop music as much as possible because he thought they were “generally crappy” – however, after a while the 58-year-old realized that these Foreclosure to his offspring would not be fair. Reznor’s daughter would have played it for Dua Lipa for the first time, after which the two-time Oscar winner had to say he was pleasantly surprised by the singer’s music. “The other day I heard my daughter, who is six, sing Dua Lipa. She loves it, it’s so cool,” the “Closer” singer told Rick Rubin. ” […] It reminded me that the art of well-crafted music is still alive. I listened to the Dua Lipa song and it was a really good piece of music. It was clever. It felt good. Kind of a complicated thing!” Reznor continued.
A little later he revealed which Dua Lipa song he would particularly like. The answer: “Levitating” even made Reznor cry – the chorus in particular would have really touched the musician.
