The ‘King of Bollywood romanticism’, as Khan is often described, has been in the Hindi film industry for almost three decades, also known as Bollywood. At that time he transformed from actor to the head of a large production company and co-owner of a cricket team.
The capacity of the 59-year-old film producer/actor is estimated by the team behind the Hurun India Rich List, an annual ranking of the richest people in India, at no less than 1.4 billion dollars.

“His billionaire status is mainly due to his interests in Red Chillies Entertainment (his production company) and Knight Rider Sports (his cricket club),” Anas Rahman Junaid, founder and chief researcher of Hurun India, told the BBC. After football, Cricket is the most popular sport in the world, with billions of fans, especially in countries such as India, Pakistan and Australia.
With its high position in the ranking, the Indian belongs to an illustrious company of wealthy stars, such as Arnold Schwarzenegger (1.2 billion dollars), pop star Rihanna, golfer Tiger Woods and singer Taylor Swift, whose capital is estimated at 1.6 billion dollars.
