A solidarity action for Ukraine will be held this afternoon on Dam Square in Amsterdam. Russia invaded the Eastern European country on Thursday night last Wednesday and, as in many other European cities, those in attendance can express their support for Ukraine.

From 1 p.m., various organizations will be organizing statements of support for the situation in the country. “On Monday there was already the idea to organize something on Dam Square out of solidarity. We reported this to the police and it turned out that several parties have done this. We have now coordinated our programs,” said co-initiator and founder. from Peace SOS May-May Meijer know earlier.

The organization hopes that the people who come to the solidarity action especially want to take with them many loving expressions, “such as pictures of peace doves and hearts.” There will be a two-minute silence at 3:30 PM.
