The 20-year-old Nena from Groningen has sought publicity with a story about Thijs Römer. He is said to have behaved cross-border against her six years ago. Her story immediately reached an audience of hundreds of thousands of people through the juice channels and as a result the actor is now inundated with savage reactions.

Bridge too far

Thijs had been under fire at juice channel Juice Channel all week anyway, but with relatively harmless rumors about cheating and intimate contact with fans. The accusation of 20-year-old Nena, who is not anonymous, of course goes a step further. In fact: a bridge too far, according to the actor himself.

The actor has responded to this rumor in three tweets and seems to deny everything. He is even thinking of reporting defamation and slander.

libel and slander

Thijs writes on Twitter: “In the past few days, several wild stories about me have been circulating. So far I have not felt compelled to respond to this. The story about a then 14-year-old girl with whom I would have had cross-border contact, however, goes a bridge too far for me as a father of a teenage daughter and a sensible person.”

He continues: “I hope it won’t be necessary, but if this doesn’t stop I will have to file a complaint for libel and slander.”

Mixed reactions

Thijs’s reaction evokes mixed reactions. “If I were you I would do that anyway”, says one. And the other: “Good. People shouldn’t just be able to say anything.”

However, there are also skeptical people. “You can also just refute it, right? What is true and what is not?”, Hans remarks.

Juice queen Yvonne Coldeweijer: “If it wasn’t true, you could immediately report it, right? Why shouldn’t it be necessary now if it isn’t true?”

sneaky bastard

Juice Channel responds: “He talks about wild stories. If you just act normal and don’t chase your dick then no ‘wild’ stories, as you call them, will come to light, sneaky bastard!”

Journalist Ton F. van Dijk: “I have learned that threatening to report a crime is never strong. The hard denial is also missing: a bridge too far, what does that actually mean in this context? Let the police figure this out and until then don’t draw any conclusions.”

In the meantime, Nena has been approached by almost all show media: from RTL Boulevard to Shownieuws and from AD to Gossip Talk. It is not yet clear whether she has also given interviews to it.
