The last Eurovision finalists were chosen on Thursday in the second semi-final.
Bulgaria, Ukraine, Norway, Australia, Romania, Malta, Cyprus, Albania, Denmark and the Czech Republic made it to the next round.
Luxembourg, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Latvia, and Switzerland were left without a place in the finals.
Denmark has been considered one of Finland’s worst challengers in Eurovision. Denmark is represented Søren Torpegaard Lund with his piece Før vi går Hjem. The funding countries, which include Great Britain, Germany, France and Italy, were automatically able to continue. In addition, this year’s host country of Eurovision, Austria, automatically got a place in the final.
On Tuesday, Finland’s Eurovision representatives Linda Lampenius and Pete Parkkonen advanced from the first semi-final. In addition, Lithuania, Belgium, Poland, Sweden, Moldova, Serbia, Greece, Israel and Croatia made it to the finals. Greece in particular has been considered a tough challenger to Finland.
The winner of Eurovision will be decided in the final on Saturday, May 16. The Eurovision Song Contest will be held this year in Vienna, Austria.
