New flagship: The iPhone 15

As part of the September 2023 keynote, the iGroup is likely to present its new flagship smartphone, the iPhone 15. According to the first leaks, this should come in a revised design. The blog Phone Arena reports that the new model looks more like Android smartphones and should have rounded corners. In addition, there were indications that the device could be equipped with a periscope camera. Since it is rumored that the smartphone could be a little larger again, Phone Arena suspects that titanium could be used instead of stainless steel and aluminum in this model. iPhone Pro variants should differ more from standard models

In addition to the iPhone 15, there will also be a Pro variant of the model. As reported by heise online, the smartphone manufacturer should, in 2023, place value on the fact that the two models are easier to distinguish. It is also possible that there could be another distinction between the iPhone 15 Pro and another model, the iPhone 15 Ultra or iPhone 15 Pro Max. As with the iPhone 14, it is assumed that only the Pro and Pro Max versions of the new smartphone models will be equipped with the latest A17 chip, which should give them a performance advantage in terms of speed and power consumption. The standard models iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus, on the other hand, are likely to switch to the A16 chip, as heise online writes.

In order to convince more users of the more expensive Pro models, they should also come with better RAM (8 GB), a larger screen and a more powerful camera. According to Apple insider Ming-Chi Kuo, the iGroup is also likely to replace the physical buttons on the more expensive iPhone 15 models with a solid-state surface that won’t give in when touched. Elevations, such as those on the volume controls, would still be noticeable, but they could no longer be pressed in.

Expected iPad Pro with larger screen

As techradar reports with reference to Apple leaker Ross Young, the iPad Pro 2023 should experience a size update. The 12.9-inch screen of the current iPad Pro, which has not been changed since 2015, may be enlarged to 14.1 inches (diagonally) in the first quarter of 2023. Not many more details are known about the tablet, but Macwelt assumes that the professional device will be equipped with an M2 or even M3 chip and will be equipped with the iPad OS16 operating system.

iMac, Macbook and Macbook Air finally with long-awaited updates?

According to speculation, the new Macbook Air will also come with a larger 15-inch display in 2023. According to insiders, a size of 16 inches is even conceivable, writes Macwelt. At the same time, the device should retain its characteristic lightness and slim design. It is unclear whether the lightweight laptop will still be equipped with an M2 or the newer M3 chip.

5G-enabled Apple Watch 9

Not much is known about an Apple Watch upgrade. However, it is assumed that the retina screen will be enlarged. According to Macwelt, there is also speculation that the smartwatch should be 5G-capable and rely on the use of mini-LEDs.

The return of the Apple Homepod

After the iGroup gave up the Homepod 2021 project, fans of the multifunctional speaker can now look forward to a comeback – in a slightly modified form. So the Homepod should return in two different variants. On the one hand, there should be a version of the Homepod that is equipped with a screen, as reported by Macwelt. This should be combinable with Apple TV, so that films or series can also be watched with the help of the smart speaker. Is the VR/AR headset finally coming?

There has already been a lot of speculation about Apple’s virtual reality/augmented reality headset, but the time has come in 2023 and the mixed reality headset should be launched. An official name for the device has not yet been announced, but Apple expert Mark Gurman from the news portal Bloomberg spoke of “Reality Pro”. The glasses should allow the wearer a combination of virtual and real perception and represent the perfect transition to the metaverse.
