Two singers and a theater maker have a chance to win the Drentse Talent Prize Culture 2025. The nominated talents are Isabèl Usher from Assen, Marieke Schenk from Tynaarlo and Femke Brinksma from Uffelte.
The winner will be announced on April 14 and will receive a prize of 2,500 euros and an image. The Drentse Talent Prize Culture is awarded annually by the Art & Culture Foundation and is intended as a stimulation prize for young talented artists or groups. Earlier winners include music duo Tangarine, the band Blackbriar and filmmaker Okki Poortvliet.
Art & Culture says the following about this year’s nominees: “Femke Brinksma made the musical and drying -comic performance in 2024 An approaching end. A performance about closing and saying goodbye. This season she is doing a residence process at the Zwolse Theaters workshop. Marieke Schenk launched her very first single in December 2024 Confused person. A song about being different and feeling alone. Isabèl Usher is active as a songwriter and vocalist on international dance tracks. Her debut album appeared in 2024 Astronaut. She won the ‘Talent of the Year Award’ during Popgala Noord last January. “
A Drenthe professional jury chose the three from a total of 41 candidates. A national jury determines the final winner.
