These are the hits of 2022

Apple Music has announced the top songs, top shazams and most read lyrics on the platform. Number 1 of the 100 most listened tracks worldwide is the song “Stay” by The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber, followed by Harry Styles with “As It Was”. In third place was “Wait For U” by rapper Future feat. Drake and Tems. Kodak Black took 4th place with “Super Gremlin”, 5th place Adele with “Easy On Me”.

Also making the global top 10 are Glass Animals’ “Heat Waves”, Elton John and Dua Lipa’s “Cold Heart (PNAU Remix)”, Jack Harlow’s “First Class”, Bad Bunny and Chencho Corleone’s “Me Porto Bonito”. and “abcdefu” by GAYLE.

The top 10 songs in Germany:

Most of the titles in the top 10 of the worldwide ranking were already released in 2021, “Heat Waves” even in summer 2020. The most frequently represented genre is hip-hop with 32 songs in the top 100. 23 titles belong to the music genre pop, 11 to R&B and soul. In addition, the number of non-English songs has increased – with 21 titles, more than twice as many as in the previous year.

The lyrics to “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” from the soundtrack to the Disney film “Encanto” received the most reading. The list of songs most frequently scanned in music recognition app Shazam tops Elton John and Dua Lipa’s “Cold Heart (PNAU Remix)”.

Simultaneously with the announcement of the rankings, the replay reels start at Apple Music. This feature allows users to see which artists, songs, albums, and genres they’ve listened to the most over the past few months. Competitor Spotify offers its own version of the annual review with “Spotify Wrapped”.
