These are the first reactions to Marvel’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

Following the world premiere of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever in Hollywood on Wednesday (October 26), critics have already shared their first impressions of the film online. The official review embargo is scheduled to end on November 8th. The first reviews published on Twitter are euphoric – but should also be treated with caution, because preliminary tweets from selected critics are often benevolent. Nevertheless, they often reveal something about the film content to be expected.

The first Black Panther: Wakanda Forever reviews to hit Twitter

Film journalist Germain Lussier: “‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ is as epic as the best Marvel sequels can get. The story is very interesting and thematically very rewarding – with heartbreaking twists and turns. You can feel the overall length, but it’s fun, really beautiful, and features the strongest end credits scene in Marvel history.”

Journalist Fico Cangiano: “#WakandaForever is amazing! Coogler gives us a profound, whimsical sequel that is full of emotion and effectively addresses relevant issues in our world. A wonderful tribute to Boseman’s legacy. Letitia & Tenoch are great and the scene during the credits is very moving. #BlackPanther”

Mathematician Steven Weintraub: “Another reason I’m so impressed with #BlackPantherWakandaForever is #RyanCoogler. He had the impossible task of executing the sequel in a respectful way without #ChadwickBoseman while also keeping things running. It was a home game again. This is going to be a big hit for Marvel.”

Film critic Kevin McCarthy: “’Wakanda Forever’ is a beautiful, cathartic tribute to Chadwick Boseman. It reminds us all of his monumental impact and that he will be with us forever. Great performance by Gurira, Bassett, Wright & Thorne. Huerta was amazing. I loved Rihanna’s song and Ludwig’s production of it.”

Rihanna provides the soundtrack

“Lift me up”, the first track from the soundtrack, will be released on Friday (October 28). The song is dedicated to the “Black Panther” Chadwick Boseman, who died of cancer in 2020, and was sung by Rihanna and produced by Ludwig Göransson.

The production, directed by Ryan Coogler, will be in German cinemas from November 9th.
