From the Allgäu to Ticino to Colombia and Hawaii – at the Travelbook Awards 2023, a jury of nine experts chose the world’s best trend travel destination. Where you should definitely travel next year…

► The Ticino region Italian-speaking Switzerland is the “best region for a wellness holiday”. Why? “With the unique combination of picturesque lakes, rolling hills and first-class accommodation, Ticino invites you to take relaxing wellness trips in the midst of an idyllic natural setting,” said juror Torsten Schäfer, Head of Communications at the German Travel Association (DRV).

► According to the Travelbook jury, the best travel destination for an adventure holiday can be found in Hawaii. “Whether in the water, on the ground or in the air – Big Island has a lot of thrills to offer and is therefore the clear winner for us,” says Travel Industry Club board member Dorothea Hohn.

► The audience also voted. This is the best holiday region in Germany Allgäu. This was decided by over 40,000 Travelbook readers in two rounds of voting. “High mountains, deep valleys, snow-covered peaks in winter and flowering mountain meadows in summer – the Allgäu more than deserved to win,” says Angelika Pickardt, head of the Travelbook-Editorial staff.
