There will be commercials on Netflix – fortunately not yet in Finland

Netflix will launch ads on its streaming service on November 3rd.

The subscription option with advertisements will not come to Finland yet. PDO

Netflix gave consumers some sad news. The streaming service starts running ads during movies and series.

The new subscription option will launch on November 3rd for $6.99 per month. The option will be available in the US, Canada, Australia, Brazil, Heavy, Italy, Germany, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Spain and the UK.

The new subscription option will therefore not be included in the Finnish Netflix selection for the time being.

The company says that the reform in question does not affect “current members or subscriptions” but is a cheaper additional option alongside the current Basic, Standard and Premium subscriptions.

In the cheaper subscription option, ads will be displayed for four to five minutes per hour. They are 15 or 30 seconds long and are shown both before and during movies and series.

Netflix also plans to use targeted advertising so that advertisers can reach their “right audience”.

– Advertisers can also prevent their own ads from appearing in content that may conflict with their brand, Netflix states.
