With frameThe year 2022 is coming to an end and so it’s time for lists. Google has released an overview that has been massively searched for in the Netherlands this year. The same search terms often return in the East Netherlands.

Ukraine is this year’s top trending search in the Netherlands, according to Google. Around the start of the war on February 24, the keyword experienced the largest increase. People searched for the latest news about the war, but also wanted more information about the refugee situation. In both Flevoland and Overijssel, Ukraine is at the top of the search list, in Gelderland at position three.

Google did not calculate which topics were searched for the most for the ranking. In that case, the list would be led every year by terms such as ‘vacancy’. Instead, Google examined which searches saw the biggest change compared to 2021.

The Voice

Also to the abuses The Voice of Holland was sought after this year. The names of Ali B and Jeroen Rietbergen were often entered in the online search engine. Following the revelations in the program ANGRY the talent show was taken off the tube.
