Hiddema, who also has a law firm in Maastricht, and Frentrop split off and thus keep their seats in the senate. “The fact that they have decided to split off came as a surprise and disappointment to the House of Representatives faction. Frentrop and Hiddema will continue to work with Forum for Democracy in the Senate,” the party writes in a statement on Twitter.

It is not the first time that Hiddema has turned away from Thierry Baudet’s party due to disagreements. But he kept coming back to that. The most recent time, he felt that the party focused too much on corona policy and he no longer wanted to be a list pusher.
