Tomiko Itooka, a 116-year-old Japanese woman who was officially considered the oldest person in the world, has died. The government of the city of Ashiya, where she lived, announced this. Itooka, who was born on May 23, 1908, died on Sunday in the nursing home. She became the oldest person in the world last year after the death of 117-year-old Maria Branyas.
