From Oberhof to Ruhpolding: The second home game in the World Cup is about to begin for the German biathletes. Are things now going better for the athletes of the German Ski Association (DSV)? And where are the competitions shown on television and stream?
The biathlon circus travels from one atmospheric location to the next: After the races in Oberhof, there will be two individual and one relay competitions for the biathletes in Ruhpolding from Wednesday (January 15th). It is the fifth of a total of nine stations in the 2024/25 World Cup season and an important assessment before the World Championships in Lenzerheide (February 12th to 23rd).

While the German biathletes only achieved a podium place in the single mixed relay in Oberhof, the DSV team wants to attack again in Ruhpolding. The hosts have to improve, especially at the shooting range.
“You can’t be satisfied. We’ve set our sights on more, especially at home,” DSV sports director Felix Bitterling clearly complained on “ZDF” before the end of the competition. It’s not a “general shooting problem, the problem is between the ears,” Bitterling said. Everyone feels “the pressure in front of their own audience, we want to do particularly well.” The sports director has “never heard of a footballer complaining about pressure during a home game.”
