The winning athletes of the 45th Istanbul Marathon have been announced! – Last minute Athletics news



Excitement was experienced for the 45th time at the İşbank Istanbul Marathon, organized by Spor Istanbul, a subsidiary of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM), and shown in the Elite Label category by World Athletics. Races were held in the 42K, 42K Skating, 15K and 8K Public Race categories in the Istanbul Marathon, which stands out as the only marathon run intercontinental.

The race started 250 meters behind the 15 July Martyrs Bridge on the Anatolian Side and ended in Sultanahmet Square.

MEN’S VICTORY FROM KENYAN PANUEL MKUNGO

Kenyan athlete Panuel Mkungo won the 45th Istanbul Marathon in the men’s category with a time of 2:10:35. Kenyan Benard Cheruiyot Sang came second with a time of 2:12:41, and Kenyan James Kiplagat came third with a time of 2:12:44.

KENYAN BEATRICE CHEPTOO WON IN THE WOMEN’S WAY

In the women’s category, Kenyan-Ethiopian athlete Beatrice Cheptoo came first with a time of 2.27.09. For women, the second place was taken by Kenyan Veronicah Njeri Maina with a time of 2:27:24, and the third place was taken by Kenyan Valentina Mateiko with a time of 2:32:15.

ÜZEYİR ÖYLEMEZ PLACED SECOND IN 15K MEN’S

In the 15K men’s category, Turkish athlete Üzeyir Söylemez ranked 2nd with a time of 48.07. Hungarian Adam Lomb came first with a time of 46:58, while Russian athlete Dimitri Ziuzin finished the race in third place with a time of 49:04.
