The voters of the Finlandia awards were nominated

The panels and electors for the 2022 Finlandia Awards have been appointed.

As usual, the Finnish Book Foundation has nominated the panels and voters for the 2022 Finlandia Awards. The Finlandia Prizes for Literature will be awarded in three copies in November, each worth EUR 30,000.

– The importance of literature is now especially emphasized in our time of war, crisis and unrest. Literature nourishes the resources of the mind and increases our understanding of humanity and the world. The Finnish Book Foundation therefore wants to promote the interest of all Finns in reading, the chairman of the Finnish Book Foundation Minna Castrén notes in the release.

The Finlandia Prize for Children’s and Young People’s Literature is awarded by the actor, presenter and class teacher Ernest Lawson. The PhD, a university lecturer, has been appointed chairman of the selection board Sirke Happonen and a teacher of Finnish language and literature as a member Mari Uusitalo and the student, the winner of Pikku-Finlandia Ask Vaismaa.

This year, the chief physician will decide on the recipient of the Finlandia Prize for Non-fiction Hanna Nohynek. Up to six meritorious non-fiction non-nominees will be nominated this year by the Communications Entrepreneur as chairman. Suna Mountain and as a member of the editor Petter Lindberg and a communications entrepreneur Riitta Pollari.

The winner of the Finlandia Prize for Fiction will be awarded by the bishop Mari Leppänen. The category selection committee is chaired by PhD, Literary Researcher Veli-Matti Pynttäri and as editor-in-chief Sanna Keskinen as well as the producer Anu-Elina Lehti.

The Finlandia nominees for non-fiction, children’s and young people’s literature and fiction will be announced at events at the beginning of November, and the winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on Wednesday 30 November 2022.
