The traditional celebration for Journalist’s Day once again brought together figures from the field of communication and business in the main hall of the Hotel Costa Galanain a meeting that took place in recent days and that, as happens every year, functioned as a meeting point for a good part of the Argentine media ecosystem. The celebration was organized by multimedia The Capital together with representatives of the local private sector, with the support of institutions linked to the press and companies that historically sponsor this type of events in the city of Mar del Plata.
As was foreseeable, the evening of the Awards Don Manuel Alvarez Arguelles It brought together journalists from print, radio, television and digital media, as well as company directors, municipal and provincial officials, and historical figures of national journalism who traveled especially to Mar del Plata to participate in the entertainment. Among the attendees stood out Pilar Smith, Lorena Maciel, Jesica Bossi, among other renowned hosts, columnists and editors, in a call that combined traditional profiles with new voices from the digital ecosystem, reflecting the transformation process that the activity is going through.
One of the highlights of the night was the participation of Fernando Bravo, who had a central role in the meeting. The historic 82-year-old driver, awarded for his career, was not only one of the guests of honor, but also spoke to those present, where he shared a reflection on the evolution of the profession, his personal experience in the media and the value of credibility in the relationship with audiences. His intervention was received with prolonged applause and became one of the most commented passages of the day.
But not only that, the Radio Miter journalist starred in a relaxed moment when exchanging anecdotes with colleagues and daring to sing the renowned song in karaoke format. “It will be that you don’t love me” by Luis Miguel, set to music by the band Piano bar and accompanied by the announcer María Isabel Sánchez, which provided a close tone to a ceremony that alternated institutional formality with spaces of camaraderie. His presence was interpreted as a recognition of his career and his influence on several generations of journalists.
The celebration at the Costa Galana once again demonstrated the symbolic weight that Journalist’s Day has in “La Feliz”, where this meeting was consolidated as a tradition that transcends protocol. Beyond the speeches and recognitions, the event functioned as a space for exchanging views and reaffirming ties in a context of profound changes for the profession.
