COn “La Valle dei Sorrisi”, Paolo Strippoli brings a horror to the big screen that transforms the quiet of an alpine village into a collective nightmare. The protagonist is Sergio (Michele Rondino), a teacher transferred to a country where happiness seems absolute. Soon he discovers that the harmony of the community was born from a night ritual: every week the inhabitants gather to embrace Matteo (Giulio Feltri), a boy capable of absorbing pain and anguish.
But when Sergio decides to subtract him from that fate, the fragile balance breaks and a dark side emerges capable of overwhelming everyone. “Horror always talk about anything else. It is clear that it is a story that I keep so much, that it talks about us and I think the viewer can find himself in these characters as well as being frightened, but the fright is part of the entertainment,” said Strippoli. A story that combines Gothic atmospheres and psychological tension in theaters from September 17th. (CAUMELLIOTIS BULLS)
