The Ukrainian soldier who shot his colleagues in the Dnieper has positive characteristics in the service and has not been seen by psychologists before. Ruslan Muzychuk, press officer of the National Guard of Ukraine, reported this to Segodnya. According to the representative of the National Guard, the appointment to the guard is “a whole procedure, they constantly have conversations with a psychologist.”
The incident on the territory of the Makarov Southern Machine-Building Plant (Yuzhmash) occurred on the night of Wednesday to Thursday. A 20-year-old conscript soldier, who was on guard for the protection of a state-owned enterprise, shot his colleagues from a Kalashnikov assault rifle.
Five people died. According to preliminary data, one of them is an employee of Yuzhmash. Another five people were injured. The soldier who fired ran away with a machine gun, now he is put on the wanted list.
According to the National Guard, the territory of the plant is cordoned off and patrolled. Forensic experts are on the scene. Elucidation of the causes and circumstances of the incident continues. An official investigation has been launched in the military unit, in addition, the military prosecutor’s office will deal with the case.
Later it became known about the detention of a soldier who went on the run. This was announced in his telegram account by the deputy of the Verkhovna Rada, a member of the Servant of the People faction Maxim Buzhansky. There has been no official information about the detention from the Ukrainian law enforcement agencies yet.
