Former Ukrainian player Andriy Shevchenko sent a message to all Italians from the San Siro stadium’s video scoreboard, on the occasion of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, in which he stated that “the Ukrainian people want peace”, just before the start of the Coppa Italia semi-finals between Milan and Inter.
“Dear Italian friends, from San Siro I ask you to make your support for peace in Ukraine felt. The Ukrainian people want peace, because peace has no borders, because what unites us must be stronger than what divides us. Let’s stop this war together.
