This fall, Radio Rock will be listening to a live program also in the morning.
Tuomas “Tuke” Tuomi-Nikula will be heard on Radio Rock in the future. Radio Rock
On Monday, November 3, an exceptional new program will start on Radio Rock. Radio Rock Night shift– the program takes place in the wee hours of the morning. Radio broadcasted live from the studio can be heard on the channel from 4 to 6 o’clock.
The channel’s press release states that something similar has never been heard on a commercial channel. The program will be hosted by someone familiar from Bassoradio Tuomas “Tuke” Tuomi-Nikulaa. He supervises live in the company of the listeners and also takes calls from the listeners.
Iltalehti caught up with Tuomi-Nikula, who says that he is really excited about the new territorial occupation.
– I am very interested in making night and night radio. There is somehow a certain magic in the night and I believe that then those who heard in a different way are perhaps connected and in a voice, he reflects.
– I remember getting a feel for Pekka Sauri’s night programs when I was young, and I have been interested in nights ever since, but it may not be the most automatic option in terms of rhythms.
Tuomi-Nikula, who hosted the afternoon program for a long time, anticipates that changing the daytime rhythm to the morning broadcasts will not be an impossible task.
– Now I’m pretty much in such a morning rhythm anyway, that we wake up early and prepare breakfast and the family to spend the school day. The rhythms don’t change for an awful lot of hours. I haven’t been such an early morning sleeper for years.
In any case, the previous weekend will require preparations.
– On the other hand, it would be cool to go into the night to collect great stories that could be shared on the radio next week. The truth, however, is probably that I’m going to change the rhythm, that I can wake up and be sharp on the radio from four to six.
The traditional program ended
Bassoradio stopped its scheduled broadcasts at the turn of August and September and now focuses solely on playing music. At that time, Tuomi-Nikula’s work in the channel’s tradition also ended A sweaty afternoon – as the host of the program.
He managed to host the program for twenty years together Jussi “Jusa” Urpalainen with. Tuomi-Nikula says that there was no major drama involved in the end of the program, but admits that the information about the end came with a fairly short notice.
– Would it have been on Tuesday when we found out and on Friday the faulty program was withdrawn. Decisions have probably been made and processed there in the company, and there is no bad feeling in that direction. Many listeners and friends were perhaps a little offended on our behalf that we didn’t tell you earlier, he says.
A sweaty afternoon he describes the last broadcast as emotional and amazing. He was positively surprised by how many artists who had visited the broadcast over the years participated in the last broadcast, e.g. via voice messages, and fondly remembered the traditional program.
After the program ended, Tuomi-Nikula started planning possible new patterns.
– I may not be able to stay and wonder for very long. I put nets in the water and asked a little about what was on the different sides.
– Times are not terribly easy in the media, culture and advertising industry. But it was really nice to notice that the budding green light was given to various projects.
Tuomi-Nikula says that she is open to many kinds of jobs.
– It sounds really funny to be on the radio for a few days a week and then do something else for a few days, he thinks.
Tuomi-Nikula also hints that there could be something in common in the future as well From a sweaty afternoon with a familiar host couple.
– It could be that sometimes we will do something with Jusa here together. There have been some inquiries, but we’ll see. Maybe time will tell about them later, he says.
Radio Rock’s night shift 3.11. from 4 to 6 o’clock.
