Next month, numerous soccer fans will head to Qatar to watch the extraordinary World Cup. Almost out of nowhere, Qatar, which has become the host country of the prestigious football tournament, is ready to offer the best possible service, but of course only to the most daring people.

Football fans who arrived in economy class and otherwise operate on a tight budget are instead directed to somewhat modest areas to sleep, such as the newly completed fan village called Zafaran, which was built only a month before the start of the games to ease the housing crisis caused by the tourist masses.

The tight schedule is inevitably reflected in the final result.

In the newly erected fan village, supporters stay in cabins that resemble freshly painted shipping containers. The square cabins are arranged in scrolls, and only the different colors and letters of the containers help you find your own room.

The cabins in the dystopian dark fan village contain beds for two people, a bathroom, a refrigerator, bedding, equipment for making coffee and tea, and towels. Several places to eat have been set up for those near the cabins, and good transport connections to the city and the stadium have been made possible.

Staying in a “container” costs tourists a little over 200 euros per night. As another option, tourists are offered overnight accommodations on cruise ships, where the cabin prices are naturally higher than the container accommodations in the fan village.

An ordinary race tourist may have difficulties finding a free hotel room in Qatar, as they have long been reserved for teams, sponsors and invited guests, among other things.

Some of the supporters are popularly staying outside of Qatar. Dubai has been one of the most popular destinations.

1.2 million soccer tourists are expected to arrive in Qatar for the games from November 20 to 18. december
