The 26th edition of the NPO Radio 2 Top 2000 started on Christmas Eve in Haarlem. Radio DJ Bart Arens counted down to midnight in an hour-long show on Tuesday evening, the moment when the first song of the annual hit list was set up. That was the song I Sat by the Ocean by Queens of the Stone Age. Arens was joined during the show by artists HAEVN, Danny Vera, KANE, Davina Michelle, Paskal Jakobsen, DJ TLM and The Maestro & The European Pop Orchestra.
