Paul Lasocoach of Real Madrid, valued his team’s victory in the second semi-final of the Euroleague against Barça (83-86), which in his opinion came about because “never” stopped believing in victory and made “a great effort” from start to finish to overcome the 13-point deficit in the second half and earn a ticket to Saturday’s final.

“I want to congratulate my players. We made a great effort throughout the game against a great team like Barça. We had three or four bad minutes in the second quarter and they killed us, but in said quarter we didn’t play so badly and we have only missed a few shots and we have been able to read the defense well and have a lot of patience in attack,” he summarized at a press conference.

He stressed that Real Madrid played “very solidly” during the forty minutes, “which is what you have to do to beat big teams like Barça.”

“In general terms, offensively we played a very good gamewe have moved the ball well, we have not lost many balls, we have attacked their defenses well and had very good offensive reads”, the coach from Vitoria stressed.

The intelligence of their players, looking for situations with greater advantages, was one of the keys to the victory against the Catalan team, in addition to the fact that they completed a “very solid” second half, in which they added 52 points.

“Fortunately, many players have followed the game plan and have been focused and they have continued to fight and look for the best situations at all times at both ends of the track and for that I am very happy,” he continued.

Despite the early withdrawal of Nigel Williams-Goss due to an ankle injury, he pointed out that they knew how to solve the problems in the management of the team with Alberto Albalde, Fabien Causeur, Adam Hanga and Sergio Llull. “All of them have managed to create the best plays and look for the best options”especially the French shooting guard, who played “with a lot of character” and completed a “very solid” performance.
