The state government pays tribute to Günther Fielmann with a funeral notice

The Schleswig-Holstein state government paid tribute to the entrepreneur Günther Fielmann with an obituary in several newspapers.

“He was not only a passionate entrepreneur, but also a pioneer in many ways and therefore a great role model for many citizens,” said Prime Minister Daniel Günther (CDU) in the advertisement published on Saturday. “His future-oriented vision has shaped our country in a special way.”

According to the Interior Ministry, the funeral service for the founder of the Fielmann optician chain is planned for January 19th. For this day, Schleswig-Holstein’s Interior Minister Sabine Sütterlin-Waack (CDU) ordered the flags to be flown at half-mast in the official buildings of all authorities and departments in the state. Fielmann was an honorary citizen of the northernmost federal state.

According to the company, Fielmann died on January 3rd at the age of 84 in his home town of Lütjensee in Schleswig-Holstein. (dpa)
