Russia already has legislation regulating the sale of alcohol on certain days, and a moderate restriction of the circulation of this product in the morning and evening works fine anyway. This opinion was expressed by deputies of the State Duma interviewed by RBC.

Before that, with a proposal to limit the sale of alcohol on weekends in an interview with Ura.ru spoke State Duma Deputy Sultan Khamzaev. Explaining his idea, he referred to world experience and stated that the sale of alcohol should be limited on weekends to protect the health of citizens, as it works in a number of European countries. In addition, he proposed raising the age for the sale of alcohol to 21. He added that this is important “in terms of the defense and survival of the nation.”

According to a member of the lower house of parliament, deputy chairman of the Health Protection Committee Leonid Ogul, the time and rules for the sale of alcohol are already regulated by the law “On state regulation of the production and circulation of ethyl alcohol, alcoholic and alcohol-containing products”. At the same time, the regions themselves can limit its sale on certain days.

“As for the prohibition at the federal level of the sale of alcohol on certain days, I have not seen such a bill and it was not discussed in the committee and in the Duma,” the deputy said.

The parliamentarian proposed to sell alcohol exclusively in alcohol stores or to allocate a separate room for this in each store so that children who come to it do not see alcohol in the neighboring department with bread. In addition, minors should not constantly watch marketing campaigns that encourage citizens to buy alcohol, Ogul believes.
