The starts and sits for week 8

Week 8 is coming up in the NFL. For fantasy football lovers, things are gradually heading towards the playoffs. Important games are coming up, every victory can be decisive. Sport.de shows you which players are the right choice for your matchup this week.

Fantasy Football Week 7 Starts

QB Jared Goff vs. Las Vegas Raiders

Jared Goff and the Detroit Lions played their worst game of the season last week against the Baltimore Ravens. Goff himself only managed 9.36 fantasy points after an interception and two fumbles. Now, however, it’s against the Raiders, who just got 30 points from the Bears, and on the other hand, they’re playing at Ford Field at home. Goff’s average points output since last season has been 22 points, and this season he has always brought his fantasy owners at least 18 points at home.

QB CJ Stroud vs. Carolina Panthers

In Carolina there will be a duel between the first two picks of this year’s NFL draft. Bryce Young meets CJ Stroud. So far, Stroud has clearly outshined his opponent as the number 2 pick. In your fantasy league, you should therefore choose him, unlike the Panthers in the draft. Stroud is rested and fresh from a bye week and should also get wide receiver Tank Dell back from a concussion.

RB Gus Edwards vs. Arizona Cardinals

Admittedly, this “start” involves a bit of risk, because you never know exactly which running back the Ravens are targeting. Gus Edwards recently had more carries than Justice Hill and also boasted 144 scrimmage yards and a touchdown in the last game.

RB D’Onta Foreman vs. Los Angeles Chargers

Foreman delivered an outstanding 33.0 points (PPR) last week. You can’t assume that things will go so smoothly again and that Foreman will contribute three touchdowns again. But after such a performance, Foreman will most likely be the number one RB for the Bears despite the return of Roschon Johnson and will also get his targets again in the passing game.

WR Josh Downs vs. New Orleans Saints

The rookie receiver is getting better and better. In the last three games, Downs has had at least 13.1 points (PPR). The interaction with backup quarterback Gardner Minshew in particular seems to be working very well and so Downs will get his targets again. And the Saints secondary has been quite generous in recent weeks and has allowed a lot to be played against Chris Godwin, Nico Collins and Christian Kirk.

TE Taysom Hill vs. Indianapolis Colts

Taysom Hill has experienced a fantasy resurgence in recent weeks, which is of course also related to Juwan Johnson’s calf injury. You should definitely keep this situation on your radar with the Saints, especially if Johnson is out again you should start Hill!

Sits in Fantasy Football Week 8

QB Sam Howell vs. Philadelphia Eagles

Even though Howell scored 21.6 points against the Eagles in week four, you should keep the Commanders’ quarterback on the bench this time. Howell, who had six sacks and 12 quarterback hits last weekend, will be under constant fire behind this O-line against the Eagles front. Philly also strengthened its secondary with All-Pro safety Kevin Byard in time for the Rivalry Game.

RB Brian Robinson vs. Philadelphia Eagles

Robinson has always secured his fantasy output with touchdowns in recent weeks. But it also needed it, because in the last four games he only managed 165 scrimmage yards. He scored 45 of them in the “first leg” against the Eagles, who also allowed a touchdown from Robinson. It is to be expected that the running back will once again do little against the strong Philly front and one should not gamble that another visit to the end zone will increase Robinson’s points.

RB Zack Moss vs. New Orleans Saints

In the last game, Zack Moss had to share the work more and more with Jonathan Taylor, who is slowly but surely finding his way back to his old strength. It’s very possible that “JT” will get even more workload against the Saints and Moss will slip back into the role of backup. He will certainly still score some points, but not enough to start him.

RB Javonte Williams vs. Kansas City Chiefs

Last week Williams had his best game of the season so far. However, you shouldn’t fall for it and start the running back now. On the one hand, he only had 52 yards against the Chiefs in the first game, and on the other hand, Williams has also missed a touchdown in the first seven games. In addition, Denver is likely to fall behind early against the in-form Chiefs, which is why the Broncos’ running game will be significantly less in demand.

WR Amari Cooper vs. Seattle Seahawks

Deshaun Watson is already out for the game against the Seahawks with his shoulder injury. Of course, this also affects Amari Cooper, who only had five receptions in the last three weeks. With PJ Walker as the backup QB, don’t trust Amari Cooper.

TE Cole Kmet vs. Los Angeles Chargers

Kmet has already had good games this season, but hasn’t had much of an impact recently. In the Bears’ clear win over the Raiders, he didn’t get a ball thrown to him by backup quarterback Tyson Bagent. Even if Kmet is a little more involved against the Chargers, you should keep him on the bench.
