The Santa Fe deputy Esteban Paulón arrived at the venue with an apron, a popcorn machine and bags to distributein a humorous intervention that took colleagues and journalists by surprise before the start of Manuel Adorni’s management report in the Chamber of Deputies. The scene immediately went viral and became one of the most talked about images of the day.

The origin of everything was a phrase by Martín Menem. The president of the House had anticipated that the session would be “spicy” and suggested, in a colloquial tone, “buy popcorn”. Paulón took the suggestion literally and turned it into an ironic political intervention: if Menem promised a show, he would be in charge of providing the refreshments.

With an apron on and a machine in hand, the Socialist Party legislator walked around the venue taking photos with different opposition deputies while distributing popcorn among his colleagues. The staging generated laughter, applause and quite a few knowing looks on the benches. But The crowning moment came when Paulón personally approached Menem’s stand and offered him a packageclosing the joke in front of the entire legislative body. The president of the House received it.

The day was marked by a strong political charge: the opposition arrived with posters, slogans and a battery of questions to question the Chief of Staff about the main conflicts of Javier Milei’s management. In that framework, Paulón’s pochoclera functioned as a relief valve before the real tension began.

The intervention of the Santa Fe deputy was not the only “pearl” of the session, but it was the one that had the most impact on social networks, where the video of his tour of the premises accumulated thousands of views in a few hours.
