The Smile announce Germany concert and cover Joe Jackson

The Smile is the new band formed by Radiohead members Thom Yorke and Johnny Greenwood and Sons of Kemet drummer Tom Skinner. Now the band also completed their first live performance and played three concerts over a 15 hour period at Magazine London over the weekend.

The Smile played all three shows in front of an audience, but the concerts could also be seen via live stream. In addition to their own titles such as “You Will Never Work In Television Again” or the recently released “Free In The Knowledge”, the group also played songs that actually come from Radiohead or Yorke’s solo projects, such as “Skrting On The Surface”. and “Open The Floodgates”. Also, new songs by the band made their debut at the concerts, such as “Speech Bubbles”, “A Hairdryer” and others.

The set lists of the three concerts were not completely identical. So The Smile performed a cover of Joe Jackson’s “It’s Different For Girls” as the last song at the second and third concert. The song was originally taken from Jackson’s 1979 album I’m the Man.
