The situation of RH Entertainment, which filed for bankruptcy yesterday, has caused several parties to feverishly think about solutions.

RH Entertainment’s bankruptcy is very sad news for venues and artists. PDO

The Christmas season has started, and hotels, restaurants and concert halls have been waiting a long time for the season to start. Concert organizer RH Entertainment’s filing for bankruptcy has caused several parties to scratch their heads the night before and throughout today.

Ikaalinen Spa & Resort is one of the many operators affected by the bankruptcy. At the end of the year, 12 more gigs will be organized at the spa hotel, all of which are somehow connected to the activities of RH Entertainment. CEO of the spa hotel Eero Aho open the situation to Iltalehti.

– Like other parties, the situation seems challenging to us. We are trying to find the models to implement the gigs as planned. Based on the discussions, it seems possible at the moment, Aho clarifies.

The previous years have made the operations of tourism companies a lot more difficult. Corona restrictions and changed consumer behavior have created uncertainty in the industry. People are simply buying fewer tickets in advance.

The changed operating environment and rising energy costs do not make the situation any easier either. The Christmas season plays an important role in the situation of the operators and, if successful, brings a much-needed boost to the companies’ coffers.

– The prospects and booking rate for the pre-Christmas period are good, but the risk is of course that if events have to be cancelled, it will cause additional work so that we can offer high-quality events to our guests, Aho says.

During the past day, the artists, Lippupiste and subscribers have been feverishly going through possible operating models. As far as Ikaalinen Spa & Resort is concerned, all parties hope that the already arranged events and gigs can be organized. According to Aho, there is a common front between the parties, where everyone wants the events to take place.

– An intact voice connection has been maintained with all parties and that makes the situation easier.

Situations like this will certainly have to be taken into account in some way in the future. There are always risks in the events industry, and predictability is currently challenging. Companies certainly have to think about the risks involved in organizing events. The whole and the model of attaching artists will certainly be examined in the future.

– It’s always good to stop to review and evaluate the past and learn from it. At the moment, however, we are trying to secure the models for the implementation of the agreed gigs. The need for changes in operating models will be assessed later, says Aho.

Ikaalinen Spa & Resort will inform its customers if there are changes to the ticket policies or events.
