An 81-year-old woman from Breda died from her injuries on Friday after an accident with a gritter in Breda. The car she was driving crashed into the back of the gritter on Thursday evening. Another passenger, an 86-year-old man from Tilburg, died earlier.
The accident happened at the intersection of Loevesteinstraat and Zwijnsbergenstraat. The woman was taken to hospital by ambulance in a critical condition after the accident.
The police could not say anything about the cause of the accident. It was slippery on Thursday evening due to freezing wet roads and remnants of snow. Gritter trucks from the municipality and Rijkswaterstaat therefore took action.
