The rehabilitation of the Palace of the Marqués de Alfarrás in Barcelona will be completed in 2024

The last major intervention in this palace was carried out between 1983 and 1987 when the right wing of the building was rehabilitated, which since 1993 has housed the El Laberint Training Center, which gives courses and workshops on gardening, agriculture and biodiversity, with the aim of to increase and consolidate knowledge and dissemination of the green and urban nature of Barcelona among the general public.

With 3,000 square meters of surface, The palace is the main building of the Laberint park, made up of a set of gardens from different eras with an area of ​​more than 54 hectares distributed over three staggered levels, which receives around 250,000 visitors each year.

The deputy mayor, Janet Sanz, explained that the rehabilitation is being carried out thinking that in this valuable space they can fit various uses, to be determined in a discussion with the neighbourhood, the district and the city and they will materialize with a functional program. According to the consistory, it is expected that the consolidation works of the Palace of the Marqués de Alfarràs will be carried out in three consecutive phases of work.
