Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov instructed the prosecutors of the subjects to check the validity of the cost of PCR tests for coronavirus in the laboratories of medical institutions, as well as the prices for tests in pharmacies. About it reported on the website of the Prosecutor General’s Office.

The decision was made against the backdrop of publications in the media about a significant increase in prices. In case of violations, the department promised to take “exhaustive measures”.

The report emphasizes that the issues of compliance with laws in the field of combating coronavirus “are under constant monitoring.” Prosecutorial checks are carried out in healthcare institutions, social services, state authorities and local self-government.

On January 22, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin instructed the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) to check prices for PCR tests as part of measures to combat the spread of the omicron strain.
