The popular vegetable sausage has even been made into rap.

This plant -based sausage is wild in the Danes. Meat Food Tech

Danish consumers have become wild from the peas-based other Maggars of Finnish Meat. The Savochil -tasting grilled “Maggara” has even spawned in addition to numerous enthusiastic fans.

Meatat’s Marketing Manager Emma Vuorio says that Muo-vegetable sausage has been sold in Denmark for over a year.

– Now the popularity of the product has exploded. The first rounds went to Denmark in April last year.

Meeat’s CEO Petteri Ruska says that the products are on sale in all Lidles in Denmark, which is over 160 in the country. The popularity of vegetable sausage has spread, among other things, Facebook Vegans Madglæde in a food community, whose name means vegan food.

There are tens of thousands of members in the group, one of which one eager fan, Tomashas made the other vegetable sausage a rap song. According to the song, it “smells of June” and “ritles and snaps just right”.

– The last point on I is that consumers have made poems and rap about the product. It’s great, of course, that sales are born, but it is even finer that a relationship with consumers is born and they proclaim love to Maggara. After all, this is unprecedented, Ruska says.

– We have had a conversation with Tomas, who made the rap, and the song has been played at the office. It delighted us, he continues.

Why is the product interested in Danes?

-One thing is the spiciness, as our Savuchili magga is popular. The Danes especially like fiery taste, and then the structure is praised, Ruska replies.

– The Danes are demanding in this regard, and there is even greater the plant protein category than in Finland. The competition is active and there are many new and really good products on the market. Their taste and structure are moving forward all the time.

According to Ruska, Finns are tough to grill, but the Danes are even more enthusiastic and active barbecue, regardless of the weather.

– In Denmark, the market for plant -based food is slightly larger than in Finland and has state support for plant -based food. It is an interesting market for us from the perspective of growth.
