The Düsseldorf e-commerce group The Platform Group AG announced its next acquisition on Monday.
As part of an asset deal, the group of companies acquired all shares in the Herbertz GmbH based in Solingen from the Swiss online retailer SwissCommerce Group. The purchase price has been agreed not to disclose, according to a message. The transaction should be carried out in early March.
The Platform Group opens up a new business area through the purchase of the outdoor online retailer, which has its own logistics center in Gladbeck. CEO Dominik Benner explained the background of the acquisition: “With the takeover of Herbertz, we cover the outdoor area for the first time – and would like to actively want other partners in the outdoor onboard area,” he said in a statement. “The competence that Herbertz completely covers logistics for manufacturers and thus offers online trading from AZ is unique in the outdoor area.”
