The Düsseldorf e-commerce group The Platform Group AG has further expanded its portfolio. On Tuesday, the company announced that it acquired a participation in PMR Handels GmbH through its subsidiary Digitec Living Brands GmbH. The company based in Berlin therefore operates various online trading platforms for furniture, including sofa Dreams.
The Platform Group did not provide any information about the scope of the participation. PMR, however, remains “operational independently” and will continue to be managed by the existing management with Harald Rexilius, according to a message.
Dominik Benner, the CEO of The Platform Group, explained the latest investment. “With this participation, Digitec Living Brands consistently continues our platform approach in the furniture trade and we thus further expand our position within the furniture industry,” he said in a statement. “Our B2B customers in particular have become significantly more important in the past two years.”
Christopher Lauth, the managing director of Digitec Living Brands GmbH, specified the goals: “In a network with the TPG, we want to jointly switch more furniture manufacturers on our platforms through this strategic participation, reduce logistics costs through efficiency gains and reduce marketing costs thanks to the TPG solutions,” he said.
