The Düsseldorf-based e-commerce group The Platform Group AG has once again expanded its portfolio. On Monday, the company announced the takeover of Albstadt-based Lyra Pet GmbH, which operates an online platform for pet supplies.
The group of companies has signed a contract for the acquisition of all shares in the company, according to a statement. The seller is therefore the SwissCommerce Group. The company said it had agreed not to disclose the financial details of the transaction, which is due to be completed in February.
Dominik Benner, CEO of The Platform Group, explained the background to the acquisition. “With the acquisition of Lyra Pet, we are entering the pet supplies industry for the first time – a growing and profitable segment in e-commerce and retail,” he explained in a statement. “We are pleased to implement the platform approach here with our software and our know-how and to make further acquisitions in this area.”
