The passage in the Stadshart has been sold: this is what it means for Zoetermeerders

The passage in the Stadshart has been taken over by a new owner. The real estate company wants to make beautiful plans for the outdated passage. There are also ambitious plans for the former V&D building.

PingProperties has taken over Stadshart Oost on 1 September. This concerns the covered passage, 48 apartments and 831 parking spaces.

Plans are still being made

There are no definite plans for the time being, but that something will happen with the outdated passage is certain. The new owner takes the time to investigate the needs of various stakeholders. This in consultation with the municipality of Zoetermeer, which has requested a redevelopment of the so-called sub-area 3.

Shopping and living

An important part of the plans is the construction of a possible residential tower on the site of the former V&D department store. In terms of supply of stores, PingProperties wants a varied range of non-daily items, such as clothing stores.

“We have yet to fully determine the direction of our plans for the passage,” says Luc Baas, Fund Manager of PingProperties. “We want to work on a commercial and diverse range of shops, but also to meet the housing need. There are empty buildings for which we naturally want to come up with a nice plan. Ultimately, the passage becomes a lively place.”

Keep an eye on the neighborhood

In addition to the passage, PingProperties also owns the 48 apartments above the covered shopping center and 45 percent of the parking spaces in the parking garages at Belgiëlaan (P1), Luxemburglaan (P4), Amsterdamstraat (P5) and Germanylaan (P9). We will of course keep you informed of the plans.
