Javier Milei He usually invites several diners to his Olivos residence to accompany him to certain Sunday events he holds. From the journalist Alejandro Fantino even the economist Juan Carlos de Pablohave attended dinners in which new national films were screened, such as “Homo Argentum”, starring Guillermo Francella and directed by the Cohn-Duprat duo; or to listen to fragments of opera, even sung by the president himself.
But today the date moved location. The singer Andrea Bocelli arrived in Argentina to offer two highly anticipated concerts. The Italian tenor performed on November 17 at the Teatro Colón, in what was his first time in that prestigious Buenos Aires coliseum. Ticket sales were frenetic: they sold out in just a couple of hours. Due to the great demand, Bocelli added a second show the next day, November 18, at the San Isidro Hippodrome, with a more modern repertoire designed for a mass audience.
Curiously, his arrival in the country included a symbolic gesture with President Javier Milei, a declared opera lover. Milei received Bocelli at the Casa Rosada, where he gave him the “Decoration of the Order of May”. The event was held in the White Room: Bocelli was entertained with canapés and diplomatic recognition by the Government, with the presence of officials and representatives of the Italian embassy.
After receiving the decoration, Bocelli offered an intimate mini concert: he sat at the piano and played the tango “Por una Cabeza”, then he performed “Bésame mucho” and later the version of Pavarotti’s “Donna non vidi mai” was heard. In his words of gratitude, the tenor said he felt like he was in a dream, praised the warm Argentine reception and expressed his desire to return soon.

“I never imagined that one day I would receive recognition like this. I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart. I hope to return soon,” said the Italian artist. The event was attended, in the front row, by the Chief of Staff, Manuel Adorni, and his wife, Bettina Angeletti. Joined by the Secretary General of the Presidency, Karina Milei, and the ministers, Luis Petri (Defense), Mariano Cúneo Libarona (Justice), Luis Caputo (Economy) and Pablo Quirno (Foreign Relations). Also the presidential advisor, Santiago Caputo.
