Dow Jones-The number of regular insolvencies requested in Germany, according to the provisional information from the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), rose by 5.7 percent compared to the same month in March. The results must be taken into account that the applications only flow into the statistics after the first decision of the insolvency court. In many cases, the actual time of the bankruptcy application is approximately three months before.
For January, the local courts reported 1,830 company insolvencies for final results. That was 12.8 percent more than in January of the previous year.
The district courts put the demands of the creditors from the company insolvencies reported in January at around 5.3 billion euros. In the same month, the claims were around 3.5 billion euros.
